Mobile Bay’s Eleventh Annual International Beer Festival

It's that time of year again to "Think Globally and Drink Locally". For the eleventh year running, both local and visiting beer connoisseurs will descend upon downtown taverns and restaurants to sample over 50 different microbrews and imports from all over the world. The moda! electronic trolley will be on hand to help carry participants from one side of the entertainment district to the other for free. 14th Annual BAYFEST Music Festival

BAYFEST will celebrate its 14th anniversary on October 3, 4 and 5 with an anticipated 200,000+ guests who will sing, sway and dance on the streets of downtown Mobile, Alabama for three days and nights to the strains of over 100 live musical acts. BayFest has become known throughout the region for its vast array of renowned musical talent appealing to a wide variety of tastes and suitable for the entire family. King, Dwight Yoakam, Widespread Panic, Kool and the Gang, Hank Williams Jr., Creed, 3 Doors Down, Live, Lee Ann Womack, Kenny Chesney, Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight, Travis Tritt and The Doobie Brothers, (among hundreds of others)have performed for a ticket price that is less than what most individual concerts cost. Illuminating the Word: The Saint John's Bible at the Mobile Museum of Art

Illuminating the Word will include hand-illuminated pages from both the Old and New Testaments created with gold leaf on oversized vellum. Featured are selections from the first three completed volumes of The Saint John's Bible: Pentateuch (the first five books of Jewish and Christian scripture), Gospels and Acts and Psalms. Highlights will include folios of The Seven Days of Creation, Genesis, The Garden of Eden, The Ten Commandments, The Birth of Christ, The Crucifixion and the frontispieces for the four Gospels. Illuminating the Word: The Saint John's Bible is organized and circulated by the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and Saint John's University, Collegeville, Minnesota. Grand Festival of Art by the Bay

On October 18 and 19, the Eastern Shore Art Center in Fairhope, Alabama will be sponsoring the 27th Annual Grand Festival of Art by the Bay. This fine arts show will be located in Pier Park, which is close to downtown Fairhope. The show will feature over 90 Artists exhibiting in a variety of mediums, including oils, watercolor, acrylics, photography, ceramics, glass and fine jewelry.
