Alligator Alley
Observe over a hundred alligators in their natural environment. Thanks to
Alligator Alley, "Captain Crunch," a world record holding alligator, and many other alligators of all sizes are now
safe for visitors to view. Visitors to this unique alligator habitat can walk the boardwalk
paths over and past the alligators as they spend their days swimming,
sunning and eating! See alligators over 13 feet long and if you dare,
participate in one of their three daily feedings. Learn about alligators and

some of the other exciting animals who call Alligator Alley home.
Bellingrath Gardens
Surround yourself with beauty, history and ecology at
Bellingrath Gardens, a year-round floral paradise with
65 landscaped acres within a 905-acre semitropical forest.
The Bellingrath Home features a magnificent display
of 19th-century furniture and the world's largest collection
of Boehm porcelain china. While at the garden, you can
also enjoy a river cruise aboard the famous Southern
Belle.
Birding Trails
The Alabama Coastal Birding Trail is a birder's paradise. Our sun-drenched coast is a popular resort area for a variety of feathered visitors and year-round residents. The trail spans two counties, and is enhanced by directional and interpretive signage, offering birding enthusiasts endless opportunities for avian appreciation. Estuarium
at Dauphin Island Sea Lab
Visitors can begin their lesson at the Estuarium at Dauphin
Island Sea Lab, which features exciting interactive and
visual displays on the animals, plants, resources, and
ecology of the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta, Mobile Bay,
its Barrier Islands, and the Gulf of Mexico. Marine
life abounds in the Gulf of Mexico and Delta tanks, the
living marsh boardwalk, and within two "touch tables"
featuring live and preserved specimens. After touring
the Estuarium, walk the trails of the 164-acre Audubon
Bird Sanctuary or visit historic Fort Gaines where you'll
hear echo’s of the battles fought around this five-sided
fort, which bears testament to the conquest of this now
peaceful island.
5 Rivers - Alabama's Delta Resource Center
Where the Mobile, Spanish, Tensaw, Appalachee and Blakeley rivers flow into Mobile Bay stands an incredible new facility for outdoor recreation, conservation and land stewardship in Alabama: 5 Rivers. Wildland Expedition's "Gator Bait" This tour shoves off from the Chickasaw Marina, where Captain Gene Burrell takes you miles into the swamps of Mobile Bay and the river delta in a secure motor-driven pirogue. Burrell is an expert who enlightens, entertains and introduces you to the myriad of birds, fish, mammals and a few of his "gator friends" who inhabit the area.
